Privacy policy.
This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use this website or contact us, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it. We've written it in plain English so it's actually readable. If anything's unclear, email info@lemurlabels.co.uk and we'll answer.
1. Who we are
This site is operated by Lemur Labels LTD (company number 08837978), registered in England and Wales. We're the "data controller" for any personal data you share with us through this site, meaning we're responsible for deciding how and why it's used.
Our registered and trading address is Unit 6, Hyde Point, Dunkirk Lane, Hyde, SK14 4NL. You can reach us by email at info@lemurlabels.co.uk or by phone on 0161 302 1964.
2. What we collect and why
We only collect what we need to answer your enquiry or run a project for you. Specifically:
Quick quote form
When you submit the Quick Quote form on this site, we collect your name, email address, an approximate quantity range and an optional description of what you're printing. We use this to reply to your enquiry with a price and next steps. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests — specifically, responding to a business enquiry you've initiated.
Email and phone
If you email info@lemurlabels.co.uk or call us, we'll keep a record of the conversation so we can reply and follow up. This sits on the same legitimate-interests basis above.
If you message us via the WhatsApp button on this site, your message is routed through WhatsApp's own servers — they process your phone number and message content under their own privacy terms. Once your message reaches us, we keep a record so we can reply and pick the thread up again if you come back to us.
Placing an order
If your enquiry becomes an order, we'll also collect the delivery address, billing details and any artwork or print files you share with us. Our lawful basis then shifts to contract — we need this data to deliver the job you've commissioned.
3. How long we keep it
Quote enquiries that don't become orders are kept for up to 24 months from your last contact with us, in case you come back to follow up. After that we delete them.
If you become a customer, we're required by UK tax law to keep records of the transaction (invoices, contact details, job specifications) for six years from the end of the financial year the order was placed in. We delete anything beyond that retention period.
4. Who we share it with
We don't sell your data to anyone, ever. We share it only with a small number of trusted service providers who help us run the business:
- Our email provider, so we can send and receive mail.
- Our accounting software, for invoicing and statutory record-keeping.
- Couriers and shipping partners, where an address is needed to deliver your order.
- HMRC and other authorities, where we're legally required to disclose information.
Each of these acts as a "data processor" on our behalf and is bound by written contract to handle your data securely and only for the purposes we've specified.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
This site does not use tracking cookies, analytics cookies or advertising cookies. We don't run Google Analytics, Meta Pixel or any equivalent third-party tracking script.
The only client-side storage we use is a single flag held in your
browser's sessionStorage to remember whether you've
dismissed the on-site quote widget during your visit. It's cleared
automatically when you close the tab, and it's considered "strictly
necessary" under the Privacy and Electronic Communications
Regulations — so no consent banner is required for it.
If we ever add analytics or marketing cookies in the future, we'll update this policy and introduce a consent banner before any such cookies are set.
6. Third-party links and services
This site links out to WhatsApp, to email clients (via
mailto: links) and to our company telephone number.
Once you leave this site — or message us through a third-party app
like WhatsApp — that service's own privacy policy applies to the
interaction. We'd recommend reading
WhatsApp's privacy policy
if you'd like to know how they handle messaging data.
7. Where your data is held
Our business systems are hosted within the UK and European Economic Area. Where any data is transferred outside the UK/EEA (for example, if you choose to contact us via WhatsApp), it's protected by appropriate safeguards recognised under UK GDPR — either an adequacy decision, standard contractual clauses, or equivalent legal mechanisms.
8. How we protect your data
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to keep your data secure — encrypted connections to this site (HTTPS), password protection on business systems, access restricted to team members who need it, and regular backups. No system is perfect, but if something ever went wrong we'd notify you and the Information Commissioner's Office within the legally required timeframes.
9. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the following rights in relation to data we hold about you:
- Access — ask for a copy of the personal data we hold.
- Rectification — ask us to correct anything inaccurate.
- Erasure — ask us to delete it, subject to any legal retention obligations.
- Restriction — ask us to pause processing while a query is resolved.
- Portability — ask for a machine-readable copy you can take elsewhere.
- Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Withdraw consent — where we're relying on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
To exercise any of these, email info@lemurlabels.co.uk with "Data request" in the subject line. We'll respond within one calendar month.
10. Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please raise it with us first — we'd rather fix it directly. If we can't resolve it to your satisfaction, you have the right to complain to the UK's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), at ico.org.uk/concerns or by calling their helpline on 0303 123 1113.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy occasionally — for example, if we add new services or change how data is stored. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated. For any material change, we'll notify enquirers we're actively in touch with, and anyone with an active project.
